Family Night and Lantern Walk

August 18th, 2014

It’s back! GreenUP Ecology Park’s annual Family Night and Lantern Walk is happening this Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with activities for all ages.

The evening kicks off at 6:30 with the Pollen Power! Puppet Show. We’ll learn about pollinators and why they’re so important to our daily lives. There will be a campfire and live music by Glen Caradus.

At 7:00, activities will move to the Food Garden where we’ll be meeting to go on a tree tour of the park. We’ll be learning about the many native trees that call the park home and discover why we need to protect our trees for future generations.

Starting around 8:15 the lantern procession gets underway. We’ll be  lighting lanterns going on a procession through the park’s garden’s and trails. Everyone is asked to meet by the campfire.

Throughout the evening there will be face painting, honey tasting, lantern making, scavenger hunts and children’s garden activities.

Suggested donation of $5 per person or $15 for a family.
