Peterborough, ON (August 4, 2021) Effective September 7, Tegan Moss, Executive Director of the Community Bike Shop, will become the next Executive Director at GreenUP.

Since 2011 Moss has been Executive Director of the Community Bike Shop (B!KE), an award-winning charity offering cycling education and outreach in the Peterborough area.

Under Moss’ leadership, B!KE’s capacity for cycling education has grown four-fold. Through collaborations – including partnership with GreenUP – Moss has leveraged community resources to launch in-school cycling programs, community bicycle repair and riding workshops, and Earn-A-Bike programs for youth and adults. Moss also stewarded B!KE’s transition to becoming a charitable organization.

“We are pleased to welcome Tegan Moss as our new Executive Director,” says Tammy Williams, Board Chair at GreenUP. “I know I can speak for our board, staff, and partners when I say that we are excited to support and follow Tegan’s leadership as we celebrate GreenUP’s 30th anniversary and empower climate action towards the 2030 and 2050 Sustainable Development Goals.”

Moss has championed inclusive access to active transportation and infrastructure for many years. She has been recognized by the Share the Road Cycling Coalition with the Wheels of Change Award for Educating the next Generation, and with a Peterborough-Kawartha Women’s Leadership Award.

“Tegan has guided B!KE to a rich and meaningful place as an organization,” says B!KE’s Board Chair, Jackie Donaldson. “We are deeply thankful for Tegan’s hard work shaping B!KE into the inclusive and high-quality local resource it is today. We look forward to our local partnership with GreenUP continuing under Tegan’s leadership.”

Moss takes on this position at GreenUP as the award-winning non-profit charity enters its thirtieth year. Over those three decades, GreenUP has become recognized as one of Ontario’s leading organizations focused on climate action and environmental education.

“I’m honoured to join GreenUP,” says Tegan Moss. “The Peterborough region needs urgent climate action. I’m inspired and eager to join this amazing team and our partners to shape a greener and more equitable future for the city and county of Peterborough.”

Moss takes over duties effective September 7, 2021. Moss’s departure creates an opportunity for the next Executive Director at B!KE. A competitive search has begun. Details are posted on their website: http://communitybikeshop.org/opportunities/
