Exciting changes at GreenUP Ecology Park

GreenUP has been offering opportunities for learning, skill-building, and environmental action in our community for over 25 years.

For children growing up in this region, the GreenUP Ecology Park has been a site of wonder, learning, and environmental immersion.

In 2017, GreenUP began its first capital campaign, the Growing Ecology Park investment campaign. You can download the Donor Booklet at the link below.

In 2018, with generous community support and donations, we enhanced facilities at GreenUP Ecology Park by building a new Children’s Education Shelter. This new building has strengthen our capacity to offer high quality outdoor programming, maximize the impact that Ecology Park can have on the health of children, and increase accessibility to enable a greater number of children to use the park.

In 2019, we completed installation of a new low-water irrigation system in our Native Plant and Tree Nursery.

In 2020, thanks to support from generous donors, we built a barrier-free washroom, accessible pathways that connect Ecology Park with the Trans Canada Trail, and added solar panels and and an accessible permeable foundation to the Children’s Education Shelter.

You can help us reach our goals; you can donate now securely online.

For those looking for naming opportunities or giving larger gifts, please view our Major Donor Booklet

Continued plans for improvement at Ecology Park include a Straw Bale Greenhouse and a Naturalized Playscape.

As we look toward the future, community support remains as vital as ever to strengthen our capacity and educate our children in places like GreenUP Ecology Park. We are excited to continue strengthening our facilities to increase GreenUP’s capacity to educate the next generation of environmental stewards.
