It’s Official! The new Official Plan is here.

The new Official Plan will guide the growth and development of the city over the next 30 years. The City of Peterborough is expected to grow to a population of 125,000 people and 63,000 jobs by the year 2051 – representing an increase of about 42,000 people and 18,000 jobs from 2016.

The Vision Statement of the new Official Plan states our City’s intention to be a leader in responding to climate change, resilience planning and environmental sustainability. This is exciting – Let’s explore why!

Join us for a Community Conversation: Get to Know the New Official Plan.

This is a virtual event where we can learn more about what an Official Plan is, how the new Plan differs from the previous plan that was developed in the 1980s and what does this mean for our community?

City Planners, Christie Gilbertson and Milan Nguyen will be there and this event will include a presentation and Q+A period (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.). Folks are welcome to linger longer for some small group discussion (1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.).
