Water Wise Landscape Recognition Neighbourhood Nomination Blitz – Volunteers Wanted!

GreenUP, with support from Peterborough Utilities Group, would like to recognize the efforts of citizens and business owners in the City of Peterborough who are taking steps on their residential properties to conserve water through alternative landscaping methods in their front yards.

Volunteer to help us nominate neighbours!

For these events, we will meet at the yards of Water Wise participants for a quick garden Show + Tell and and orientation to what makes a yard qualify as Water Wise.

Then, we’ll divide into teams and walk a pre-defined route through the neighbourhood on a mission to nominate more yards for recognition in the program.

Volunteers will be supplied with a route map and nomination kits.

Folks who accept their nomination right then and there, receive a little gift for the garden.

Volunteer, and join us as we:

• Meet neighbours, explore a neighbourhood + share some yummy snacks
• Pick up some gardening tips, tricks and inspiration
• Help acknowledge + celebrate steps people are taking to reduce their reliance on municipal water and encourage others to do the same

Timing: 1 hour

• Garden Show + Tell plus the orientation | 20-30 minutes
• Neighbourhood walk-about to nominate yards | 20-30 min (or less if you can’t stay for long).
