GreenUP Ecology Park Family Night
August 26th, 2013
GreenUP is again preparing to give back to the community with its annual Family Night celebration slated for Tuesday, August 27th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at GreenUP Ecology Park.
Family night is a fun opportunity for families from throughout the city and beyond to come out to explore GreenUP Ecology Park, enjoy fun and games, a bonfire and have the chance to learn about our natural world at the same time.
“We’re thrilled to be continuing with this summer tradition at the park again this year,” said Marcy Adzich, GreenUP Ecology Park Manager. “We welcome all families to stop by for fun-filled evening of learning and exploration.”
This year’s Family Night will focus on pollinators, some of nature’s most important species. The evening will feature snacks, music, puppets, scavenger hunts and lantern making. There will also be a pollinator “meet and greet” and honey tasting. Family Night wraps up with a firefly lantern precession through the park.
Admission to family night is by donation and the event will be running rain or shine. GreenUP Ecology Park is located at 1899 Ashburnham Drive. Family Night attendees are asked to park in the Beavermeade parking lot, and enter the park by crossing the bridge over Meade Creek.
