Growing Ecology Park | A Five-year Fundraising Campaign
2017 is GreenUP’s 25th year. Over the past 25 years, the landscape has shifted dramatically, but GreenUP continues to develop innovative, relevant, and diverse programs that have a lasting impact on the health of our shared environment.
The GreenUP Ecology Park is a key site for our programming. Each year, more than 1,000 students visit the Park with their classes, their families, or as part of a camp program. Over the past 25 years, the Ecology Park has provided a critical site of discovery and environmental immersion for tens of thousands of young people – a generation of impact.
The Ecology Park tree nursery and garden market is also a trusted source for healthy, locally grown plant stock. These hardy plants have been widely used in conservation projects, and each year, we experience more interest in landscape naturalization and greater demand for resilient, native species.
However, without needed repairs and development, the aging infrastructure at Ecology Park will not be able to support this kind of programming or meet this growing demand moving forward.
