GreenUP is seeking a Program Coordinator to coordinate School Travel Planning and Active School Travel programs. Submission deadline is February 21, 2021.
Our ideal candidate is comfortable in a leadership position and eager to make change in their community. They are knowledgeable and passionate about active transportation issues, policy, and programming in Peterborough. They also have prior experience and/or an interest in school travel, urban planning, community engagement, strategic planning, and program evaluation. A key aspect of this position will be collaborating with community members, municipal staff, and key stakeholders to advance active school travel policy and programs in the Peterborough region.
GreenUP’s goal is to help to create a community that encourages the use of active and sustainable transportation through its design, supports, and culture. The Program Coordinator will primarily work with school communities to develop unique school travel plans and to implement planned action items. They will also assist the regional committee and staff in delivering programming and setting the future direction of Active School Travel in the Peterborough Region.
Core hours for this position will be 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, between Monday and Friday however, the incumbent will be required to occasionally meet with school-based stakeholders, collect travel data, and host events outside of these core hours. Flexible work hours will be provided in lieu of overtime. This position will engage with schools in Peterborough, Norwood, Lakefield, Bridgenorth, and Ennismore.
