This month’s Zero Waste Feature is The Stasher Bag – a reusable silicone storage bag!
If your family uses re-sealable plastic sandwich bags, then reusable silicone Stasher bags are an excellent alternative. They are airtight, dishwasher friendly, and plastic free. Like their single use counterpart, Stasher bags are easy to use, whether you’re packing lunchtime snacks or freezing leftovers. Stasher is non-toxic and temperature-resistant, so you can safely use a Stasher to cook and reheat food in the microwave, stovetop, or oven.
Stasher is a Woman Owned B Corporation, which means they are committed to high standards of social and environmental transparency, accountability, and performance. Although based in California, Stasher products are responsibly made in China with accountable and ethical manufacturing practices. The company is charitable and socially minded have pledged 1% of their annual profits to environmental charities.
Stasher bag enthusiast, Dawn Pond says, “I like Stasher Bags because you can clean them very easily and they seal really well. Having a good sealing container is nice for wet foods or things you don’t want to be exposed to the air like avocadoes or cheese. I use them every day and I am so happy that I don’t need to buy disposal/single-use plastic bags now!”
Pond also says, “Stasher bags caught my eye on social media as many eco-living and food vloggers use them for bulk food preparation and they looked so useful (and colourful!). I bought some and now I use them all the time as space efficient food containers for snacks for work or for storing food in the fridge and pantry. They have completely replaced disposal plastic bags in my house.”
Yay Stasher!
