Simply Natural Canada Shampoo and Shave Bar – Beer
Our May Zero Waste Contest features a Shampoo & Shave Bar from Simply Natural Canada. This glycerine-based soap is an excellent package-free alternative to conventional bottled shampoo as well as aerosol shaving cream.
Choosing to replace both shampoo and shaving cream with a solid bar is a great way to eliminate waste in your everyday life. Plastic bottles, although recyclable, can persist in the environment for hundred of years. Aerosol cans, for their part, contain propellants made from hyrdrocarbons, which contribute to global warming.
Local soap maker, Sherrie Le Masurier, offers a variety of scented options. (Find them in our online shop here >) Our personal favourite is the Beer Shampoo & Shave Bar. With a light and sweet honey scent, this multipurpose bar lathers well and gently cleanses without leaving you smelling like a brewery. Key ingredients include pale ale which is rich in antioxidants and promotes healthy and shiny hair as well as honey to moisturize and soften the hair follicles.
