Nature Nocturnes July 2
July 2nd, 2015
Getting more people, especially children, outside and into nature is something we strive for at GreenUP. Each Thursday throughout the summer we’re hosting Nature Nocturnes at GreenUP Ecology Park. Nature Nocturnes is a free opportunity to come to the park to learn about nature, participate in fun educational games, make nature-themed crafts and a whole lot more.
We’ve got a different theme for each week, with this week’s focus on pollinators.
Did you know that bees are responsible for 1/3rd of all of the food we eat? This Thursday we’ll be celebrating the insect pollinators that call GreenUP Ecology Park their home. Together we will go on a bug hunt, a scavenger hunt and have the opportunity to make seed balls filled with pollinator friendly seeds to take home.
Nature Nocturnes runs each Thursday in July and August from 6:30 to 8 p.m at GreenUP Ecology Park, 1899 Ashburnham Drive, next to Peterborough Utilities. All ages are welcome. While the event is free, donations are greatly appreciated.
