Join GreenUP for an adventure this summer!

Earth Adventures Camp (Ages 5-8) | Urban Bike Adventures Camp (Ages 9-12)

Earth Adventures Camp Information

Earth Adventures Camp

Children ages 5-8 who attend Earth Adventures will learn new skills and make new friends at our week-long camp. GreenUP Ecology Park is located within the City of Peterborough; our 5 acre park provides children with an outdoor experience and a deeper knowledge of place. Campers will be immersed in nature-awareness as they navigate their way around our urban ecology, both independently and cooperatively.

Your child’s week with us will include a variety of hands-on activities, including (but not limited to) plant identification, stream studies, nature art, gardening, wildlife tracking, bird language, and insect counts. Each week we have a different theme for campers that have an added interest in select topics.

Earth Adventurers spend their time completely outdoors, with a camper to counsellor ratio of 7:1. On hot days we may walk to Beavermead Beach or the Roger’s Cove Beach and splash pad where the children have an opportunity for swimming or water play.

Our experienced staff foster an appreciation for each other and respect for the land.

We acknowledge the land as Michi Saagiig Anishinaabe territory. The Ojibway word for Peterborough is Nogojiwanong, which translates into “place at the end of the rapids.” For thousands of years this region was known as a gathering spot where different first nations, families, and leaders would come together to exchange ideas and knowledge.

This year, each week-long camp will be $315 and each 4-day camp will be $250.

Earth Adventures Camp is often included with the City of Peterborough, Recreation Division Recreational Fee Subsidy Program to assist qualifying families with the cost of camp registration – Click here to learn more and to apply for the subsidy

Registration will open February 7th, 2024 at 7pm!
