September 2020 Zero Waste Contest

September 1st, 2020

The September Zero Waste feature is the Handmade Mask for Kids by lovely local makers Keetarella and Garden of Eden!

Enter below for your chance to win one of these lovely masks!

School is starting. Masks are mandatory for children in grades 4 and up, and strongly encouraged for children in kindergarten through to grade 3.

Many Ontario parents are stocking up. Reusable cloth masks, when used correctly, are an effective option that is also more sustainable than the disposable alternative.

Health experts recommend choosing face coverings with multiple layers, as additional layers add more protection. The fit and materials are also important, with cotton being preferred due to the fact that viruses tend to linger longer on synthetic materials.

The mask options offered at the GreenUP Store are locally-made with two layers of cotton fabric and adjustable elastic ear loops. These reusable beauties come in a variety of styles and sizes to optimize the fit and function.

Wearing a mask helps stop the spread of COVID-19, but it does not prevent happiness from being contagious! Just look at this lovely photo of Kathryn and her daughter getting ready for back-to-school:

Sorry, but this form is no longer accepting submissions.
