Bike Rodeo Volunteer

Location: Kinsmen Arena, Peterborough, Ontario

Commitment: 12-5pm on Wednesday, August 7th, 2013

About the program:

GreenUP is working with the Peterborough-Lakefield Community Police to organize a Community Bike Rodeo at the Kinsmen Arena. At the rodeo, youth will visit a series of stations that increase awareness and knowledge of cycling skills and road safety.

About you:

We are looking for volunteers with interests in cycling, youth and/or education. Volunteers should have good communication skills. Volunteers must stay for the whole event.

About the position:

Volunteers will lead one of the Rodeo Stations (e.g. helmet fit, start/stop, approaching an intersection). Youth will visit the station, practice the drill, and once completed will receive a check on their Rodeo Card. Volunteers will need to communicate information, offer feedback and encouragement to youth, and evaluate completion of drill.
